The Cook Labor Government has made record investment in emergency care across WA.

Our $452.7 million Emergency Department reforms are delivering better access to health services and addressing some of the pressure points in our health system.

The reforms include more transition care and respite beds for older patients, adding new options for patients to access virtual emergency medicine options, and expanded after-hours services to help patients get discharged on weekends.

Addressing the challenges facing our emergency departments will take time but we’re already starting to see improvements in emergency care and the causes of ambulance ramping.
