The McGowan Labor Government will always put patients first – this means making sure our public hospitals have new and modern facilities and equipment.

The McGowan Government’s investment into health and mental health prepares us for the future with additional $223.4 million investment in health infrastructure, increasing investment in health infrastructure to $1.6 billion over the next four years.

This is on top of the $1.8 billion set aside from the stronger than expected surplus for 2020-21 to construct the new Women and Babies Hospital.

The McGowan Labor Government will continue the legacy of delivering the highest quality health care for women and babies across the state, delivering a world class, once-in-a-generation new Women and Babies Hospital.

The McGowan Government is investing in a $251.7 million major reform program to improve access to emergency care and address the systemic causes of ambulance ramping. This is a key priority for the government.

We’re delivering $55.8 million to embed 24/7 registered nurses across 15 metropolitan and regional Emergency Department waiting rooms.
