The McGowan Labor Government is investing $1.3 billion in WA’s mental health (MH), alcohol and other drug services in 2022-23. Our investment includes:
• An additional $181 million to fund new and expanded MH AOD services
• $1.3 million for mental health workforce development initiatives
• $3.5 million for suicide prevention services
• $3.5 million to develop of a pilot alcohol-related violence prevention program aimed at reducing ED presentations at Royal Perth Hospital

Delivering 40 more mental health beds at Fremantle Hospital, providing specialist care while freeing up beds in busy south metro EDs. Works are expected to be completed by 2023.
