More social housing is on the way for Ardross, with 20 new homes for seniors to be delivered on Almondbury Road through an $11.9 million partnership between the Cook and Albanese Labor Governments.

I recently visited the site with Housing and Works Minister John Carey, where construction will soon begin on this important project.

The development will include 20 one and two-bedroom social housing apartments designed to Silver Liveable standards, incorporating age-friendly features that will help residents live safely, comfortably and independently as they age.

Located close to Westfield Booragoon, the Murdoch health precinct, public transport and other essential services, the development has been carefully chosen to help seniors remain connected to the community they've built their lives in.

One of the issues I hear about regularly from local residents is the importance of being able to age close to family, friends and familiar support networks. Projects like this help make that possible by providing secure, well-located housing for older Western Australians.
